The Shepparton Netball Association runs two competitions each calendar year, along with two tournaments.

The Saturday Winter Competition runs from March/April to September, and the Night Competition runs on a Tuesday evening from October to December.

The SNA Tournament is run on one Sunday in April/May each year with entries received from far and wide and open to age groups from 13 & Under and upwards.

The SNA Junior Carnival is run on one Sunday in August each year with entries open to all in the 13 & Under Secondary age groups.

Other events are also run throughout the year at the SNA such as our annual Cancer Council fund raising event. All events are listed on the SNA Calendar.

Saturday Competitions

Our Saturday Winter Competition is our primary competition and is our most popular. We have a number of local community clubs and school entities entering this competition which caters for all age groups and mixed skill levels. Games are played outdoors between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm.

The SNA is extremely proud to welcome their wonderful All Abilities Team, ‘The Awesomes’, who attend at the courts every Saturday morning, for a fun and rewarding game of netball. The carers, parents, siblings, friends, and other supporters also show their passion for the players and the game, with their reward being the wondering smiling faces of each player at the final siren.

  • Excludes 9&U and 11&U
  • Top four teams from each age group and section play-off in the finals.  Semi-finals format:
    • 1 vs 2 (winner to grand final; loser to preliminary final)​
    • 3 vs 4 (winner to preliminary final; loser is out)
    • Grand final is between the winner of 1 vs 2 of semi-final, plays against winner of preliminary final

  • Scorers must stand together.
  • Scorers must mark center passes as well as the score
  • Any discrepancies between score sheet and score board, the score sheet takes precedence.

Night Competition - (Juniors And Seniors)

Our Night Competition is our Spring/Summer Competition run on a Tuesday evening.  Many of our local community clubs, school entities, and League clubs enter this competition which caters for all age groups and mixed skill levels.  Games are played outdoors between the hours of 6pm – 8.30pm. 

Night Competition – Starts October for 6-8 weeks

Juniors:  6pm – 7pm 

  • 9 & Under Mixed (normal rules)
  • 11 & Under Mixed
  • 13 & Under Primary Mixed

Seniors:  7pm – 8pm

  • 13 & Under Secondary Mixed (see NV Gender Regulation)
  • 15 & Under Female
  • 15 & Under Mixed
  • 17 & Under Female
  • Open Female

For the mixed competitions up to and including the 13 & Under Primary age groups, there can be no restrictions applied on the basis of gender.

  • First time slot starts at 6.00pm
  • Last time slots starts at 8.00pm
  • 4 quarters per game
  • 10 minute quarters
  • Quarter time breaks are 1 minute
  • Half time break is 2 minutes

NETSETGO Competition

Woolworths NETSETGO is a fun, safe, social and active program for girls and boys turning 5 to 10.  It gives children of all abilities a positive introduction to netball and teaches them the basic skills of the sport.

Woolworths NETSETGO is divided into three tiers; NetSet and GO meaning that participants develop skills at a pace that’s right for their age and ability. ​

Participants will take part in skill-based activities, minor games, and modified match play that will help them develop fundamental movement skills, as well as important social skills.  

SNA Net (5-7 years) Skill Based Programs, no competition.  Please see Events page for dates and times.

SNA Set & GO (8&9 years) Competition program is incorporated into our 9 & Under competition. Entry into this competition is completed through our clubs.  Please contact your local club to join a team in the 9 & Under competition.

At the SNA, 9&U Set is a Modified Competition.  Coaches umpire and coach the games (Umpires not allocated to these games)

9&U GO is a Non-Modified Competition. Umpires allocated by the SNA.

Matches are played on a Saturday morning between 9.00am & 12 Noon. 

Tournament & Carnival

The SNA holds one tournament and one carnival each year.

Single Game Voucher

Single Game Vouchers (SGV) will be limited to four (4) vouchers only for the Saturday Winter Competition. Single Game Vouchers do not cover training.
